Media Monitors launches new social media monitoring tools in Singapore
For Immediate Release 26 October 2009
Singapore, 26 October 2009 – Today, social media has become increasingly essential for corporate communicators and public relations professionals as a way to build and strengthen their brand or corporate image amongst their target audience.
In line with the advancing technology, Media Monitors, the leading media intelligence company in the Asia Pacific region, has recently introduced new social media monitoring tools to enable corporate communicators and public relations practitioners to easily track relevant information regarding their brand, product or company. Clients will enjoy the new tools at no additional cost to its online single web-based interface monitoring solutions – Mediaportal.
In addition to monitoring traditional media, clients are now able to track relevant online discussions as they happen in real time on two popular Microblog sites, Twitter and FriendFeed, with Mediaportal’s Microblogs Search feature. It is the latest way for clients to track coverage across various sources to know what is being said or discussed about their brand, business or products from the two influential social networking sites. This new feature will help clients better manage potential issues or areas of interest quickly and easily. The feature also allows clients to share and report Microblog discussions within their organisation.
According to Mr Leon Hudson, Sales and Client Services Director - South East Asia for Media Monitors Pte Ltd, “Communication via social media is a rapidly growing trend and our clients are looking for more sophisticated tools to manage the ever increasing amount of content sources. They want content from all media sources, provided to them in a timely manner that is only relevant to what they want to know.
Therefore, we feel that it is timely for us to launch this great feature for our clients to discover information about their brand, products or company quickly and effectively”.
Besides the Microblogs Search feature, Mediaportal now also supports Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feeds. Mediaportal users can aggregate Mediaportal and other news content of their interest from multiple searches with greater flexibility in delivery of media content. An RSS reader is used to pull Mediaportal content, along with content from other news or blog sites, into one location. Clients using the appropriate reader are able to receive regular updates and view the content on their computer or mobile device. The latest product enhancements allow clients to easily navigate their Mediaportal to monitor their coverage.
“These new tools are useful to our clients in the management of their day-to-day communications activities. We will continuously demonstrate our innovative service offerings that differentiate our services from competitors to meet the requirements of our clients”, concluded Mr Hudson.
Mediaportal was first launched by Media Monitors in Australia in 2003 with over 19,000 communications professionals currently accessing Mediaportal from Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong.
